The research started with the preparation and organization of necessary equipment at Camp Šimuni. This research was carried out in co-operation with underwater archaeologists from the Croatian Restoration Institute, Department of Archeology of the University of Zadar, Zadar Archaeological Museum and ICUA. The logistical support in form of the accommodation of the research team was provided by the camp's management while the logistic support for diving at the site was provided by the Foka Diving Centre. In addition to the personal diving equipment available to all participants, two inflatable boats owned by the Foka Diving Centre were also used for the purposes of the survey, as well as DC FOKA equipment for filling of scuba tanks. Nitrox 28 was used for diving and pure oxygen for the decompression. For this occasion, a special breathing apparatus was developed, a so-called "diving hookah", used for breathing f oxygen at a certain depth. Technical solutions were made especially for this research. In addition, during the research, premises of the Diving Centre were used for storage of necessary equipment and tools, for work meetings, and for processing of documentation and findings.

The action involved a total of 18 divers organized in diving pairs. Diving took place twice a day, and due to the depth of the site, bottom-time was limited to 20 minutes.
Each dive group had clearly defined tasks, agreed at the work meeting that preceded the dives.
